Timeless Jazz Classics Volume 1 [180g - MOV]

Various Artists – Timeless Jazz Classics Volume 1 (180g Black Vinyl 2LP)

Discover Timeless Jazz Classics Volume 1, a carefully curated collection of jazz favorites selected by influential DJ, producer, radio presenter, and Acid Jazz/Talkin’ Loud label founder Gilles Peterson.

Drawing from the extensive catalog of the Dutch jazz label Timeless Records, this compilation explores a diverse range of styles, from cosmic jazz and vocal jazz to danceable jazz and jazz fusion. The collection brings together recordings from legendary artists including Pharoah Sanders, Freddie Hubbard, Art Blakey & The Jazz Messengers, Jaco Pastorius, and more.

Originally assembled as a Japan-only CD compilation in 2015, the vinyl edition expands the selection with two previously unreleased tracks: the alternate take of “Gibraltar” by Kirk Lightsey Trio featuring Freddie Hubbard and “World Peace” by Timeless All Stars.

This Music On Vinyl edition is pressed on 180-gram black vinyl across two LPs and includes an insert featuring liner notes and track-by-track information from Gilles Peterson. Released November 15, 2024, it is an excellent introduction to the depth and variety of the Timeless Records catalog.
